The Flusche business began in Decatur, Texas in 1936, but originated in Muenster, Texas in 1930. Phillip's dad, James Flusche, opened James Flusche Auto Repair at 802 N. Miller St. in 1968. The original shop building sits behind the present day facility on N. Miller. As a youngster, Phillip spent countless hours in the shop helping his dad. That led to the automotive program at Tarrant County College. Phillip joined his dad in the business full time in 1983. Following the death of his dad in 2001, he took over the business.
